HAMMONTON - Summer may be over, but Mainstrret Hammonton still has plenty of family-friendly fun planned for the rest of the year.
“Savor the Season” comes to town Sept. 21 as Mainstreet Hammonton welcomes in autumn. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy fall decorations while browsing the shops and maybe grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants in the downtown. More seasonal fun is in store during the remaining Third Thursday as well:
• Enjoy a “Spooktacular Bash” on Oct. 19
• Have a “Jolly Medieval” time on Nov. 16
• And perhaps “Jingle and Mingle” on Dec. 21.
Every Third Thursday starts at 6 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m.
If you enjoy a good deal, take some time to stop by the Mount Carmel Grounds for Mainstreet’s Townwide Yard Sale on Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The yard sale is not the only event to look forward to that weekend, though, as the 10th annual Green Day Festival, hosted by the Hammonton Green Committee, will be held on Sept. 24 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hammonton Lake Park. According to the Hammonton Green Committee’s Facebook page, those who attend will have the chance to learn about Hammonton’s environment and sustainability, all while enjoying music, food and much more.
October in Downtown Hammonton will have plenty of Halloween thrills. Children will have the chance to trick or treat throughout the downtown on Oct. 21 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (rain date is Oct. 28). If trick-or-treating is not enough Halloween excitement, then head on down to Bellevue Avenue on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. for the Kiwanis Halloween Parade (rain date is Oct. 26).
November brings a chance to get some Christmas shopping done, all while supporting local businesses during Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25.
In December, there are plenty of chances to enjoy some holiday cheer. Hammonton will get a little brighter on Dec. 2 when the town will hold its Downtown Tree Lighting.
The tree lighting will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (rain date will be Dec. 3).
“The town is decorated so beautiful, the stores all look so festive and the tree lighting is a beautiful, family event that includes local talent and the generosity of the local businesses funds this event,” said Cassie Iacovelli, executive director of Mainstreet Hammonton. “It’s a wonderful time to experience the downtown and celebrate this wonderful community together.
The holiday cheer continues on Dec. 9 when the Firemen’s Christmas Parade rolls into town starting at 7 p.m.
These are just some of the events that Mainstreet will be holding throughout the rest of the year.
