T HAMMONTON – Toy Market, South Jersey’s largest independent toy store, will host Touch A Truck on Sunday, Aug. 30. This free event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Touch A Truck will feature up close encounters with big trucks, bulldozers, tractors and more. There will be interactive games, music and giveaways for children and their families.
Touch a Truck will take place behind Toy Market, 204 Bellevue Ave., in the Vine Street Parking and on Second Street. Second Street will be closed and lined with several large trucks and machines. Kitchen 19 also will feature a Hot Dog Bar at its Truck Stop.
A wide variety of trucks and vehicles will be on display for families to explore from tanker trucks and utility trucks to John Deere tractors. The Atlantic County Utilities Authority will feature two of its compressed natural gas vehicles, including a street sweeper and trash truck. CNG vehicles provide an alternative to gasoline and diesel fuels. In addition to the dozens of trucks on display, Toy Market will issue a children’s driver’s license for added fun.
“Children of all ages love trucks. And of course, many kids have a ton of toy trucks. We are thrilled to provide an opportunity for children to explore and touch the real vehicles that so many them love to play with,” said Kelly Donio, owner of Toy Market. “We really hope the event is a great day to spend time with family as well.”
Many of the local businesses also will participate in Touch a Truck.
