MILLVILLE – Three people were injured late Friday night in two Center City shootings that occurred in the space of about 30 minutes.
All three victims were taken to hospitals and released after treatment, Detective Lt. Ross Hoffman said Monday. There are no suspects in either incident and police do not know if they are connected, he said.
Officers first were dispatched about 10:30 p.m. to the 400 block of East Mulberry Street for a report of gunshots. They found a 46-year-old Millville woman shot in the ankle and a 30-year-old Millville man shot in the thigh.
Hoffman said both reportedly were standing in front of a house on the 400 block when shots were fired from across the street.
The woman was taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland and the man to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, according to Hoffman. Their names have not been released.
The second incident occurred about 11 p.m. on the 300 block of North 3rd Street, while officers still were processing the crime scene on East Mulberry Street.
Hoffman said a 42-year-old Rosenhayn man suffered four grazing wounds — three to his neck and one to his abdomen. The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to Cooper Hospital and was in stable condition.
Hoffman said the man reportedly was standing in front of a home on the 300 block when he was fired upon from across the street.
