VINELAND - A 24-year-old Bridgeton man was hit by a pickup truck and killed early Sunday morning on South Delsea Drive just north of West Walnut Road, according to police.

The victim was identified Monday afternoon as Oneismo Hernandez of the 200 block of Cohansey Street in Bridegton. Police said family members made the identification.

Police said the accident happened about 1:19 a.m. Sunday. Hernandez, who was on foot, was struck by a pickup truck driven by Edward Perez, 39, of the 400 block of Montrose Street. Hernandez was pronounced dead at Inspira Medical Center Vineland.

The police Traffic Safety Unit is asking for anyone with possible information about the accident to contact the department.

Officer Ronald DeMarchi is the lead investigator in the case.
