ATLANTIC CITY - Officials in Atlantic City say a 4-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a school bus.

Atlantic City police say the boy was crossing the street with two family members when he was struck by an Atlantic County Special Needs District school bus around 5 p.m. Monday. Authorities say the bus driver stopped at the scene.

Police say the boy was taken to Cooper University Hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators say the bus was carrying children at the time of the incident. Police say no other injuries were reported. An investigation is ongoing.
