WINSLOW – Two separate blazes Saturday caused heavy damage to homes in Winslow.
A Mary Court house was “fully engulfed in flames” when township police and firefighters arrived shortly before 2 p.m., authorities said.
Strong winds complicated the firefighting response and the house was a “total loss,” police said.
A resident suffered minor smoke inhalation, a neighbor received medical treatment for chest pains and a pet cat was missing after the fire, police said.
Earlier in the day, firefighters were called to a townhome on the first block of Candlestick Lane in Sicklerville.
Five adjacent townhouses were evacuated while firefighters extinguished a blaze on the top floor of the home.
There was no damage to the neighboring townhouses and no one was injured, according to police, who said the Camden County fire marshal was investigating the blaze.
