Hammonton 48, Sterling 20 – Hammonton picked up wins in nine of 14 bouts, including seven by pin, to topple Sterling.

Anthony Roman (106 pounds), Andrew Mays (120), Vaughn McFerrin (145), Brian McCarthy (152), Daniel Figueroa (160), Brett Beebe (182) and Cameron Digiovannangelo (heavyweight) all recorded falls for the Blue Devils. Williams Boyle (132) and Tom Donio (220) won decisions for Hammonton.

Jan. 13

Highland 44, Hammonton 24 – McCarthy (152), Figueroa (160) and Anthony Tucci (170) picked up pins for the Blue Devils in the loss. Boyle (132) and Beebe (182) both won decisions. Beebe’s win came in overtime.

Coming up – Hammonton is home against Williamstown on Jan. 20, Shawnee on Jan 22 and for a quad on Jan. 23 that includes Mainland, Middle Township and Vineland.

Boys’ basketball

Jan. 12

Hammonton 61, Triton 46 – Peyton Mortellite scored 17 points and Marsoreez Bassett added 15 in the Blue Devils’ win. Pat Costa chipped in eight points for the victors.

Hammonton used a 26-11 third quarter to pull away.

Jan. 14

Hammonton 73, GCIT 48 – Mortellite poured in 32 points, including 27 from beyond the 3-point arc, as the Blue Devils routed GCIT.

Hammonton jumped out to a 20-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Justin Rodriguez scored 11 in the win.

Coming up – The Blue Devils host Clayton on Jan. 19 and are at St. Joseph on Jan. 21. Hammonton is also on the road against Williamstown on Jan. 26.

Girls’ basketball

Jan. 12

Hammonton 39, Triton 34 – Sara Peretti scored 10 points and McKenna Forry added eight to lift the Blue Devils to the win.

Macie Amoirello, Nikki Raup and Paige Souder all netted six points for Hammonton.

Jan. 14

Hammonton 51, Gloucester 22 – Forry registered a game-high 19 points and Peretti added 18 for the Blue Devils. Hammonton outscored GCIT 32-5 in the opening half.

Jan. 15

Hammonton 29, Egg Harbor Twp. 18 – Forry scored a dozen points as the Blue Devils’ winning streak hit four games. Peretti scored eight points.

Jan. 16

Shawnee 62, Hammonton 16 – The Blue Devils were held to four field goals in their loss to the Renegades.

Coming up – The Blue Devils are at Pennsville on Jan. 21 and at rival St. Joseph on Jan, 23. Hammonton hosts Williamstown on Jan. 26.

Boys’ bowling

Jan. 11

Hammonton 4, Salem 0 – Joe DiCamillo rolled a 235 and a 202 game in a 624 series to lead Hammonton over Salem.

Mike Heredia registered a 213 in a 578 series and Alex Launutti recorded a 204 in a 534 series for the Blue Devils.

Jan. 13

Hammonton 2, Gloucester 2 – The Blue Devils won two out of three games, but came up short in the total pin count to tie Gloucester.

Thomas Mature led Hammonton with a 208 game and a 535 series while Launutti rolled a 194 in a 501 series. Heredia rolled 200 game in a 498 series and Nicholas Palermo registered a high game of 193.

Coming up – Hammonton hosts Egg Harbor on Jan. 21 and is at Gloucester Catholic on Jan. 25.

Girls’ bowling

Jan. 11

Hammonton 3, Salem 1 – Hammonton’s Marisa Nocito rolled a 162 in a 432 set to lead the Blue Devils past Salem.

Melissa Malcolm recorded a 154 in the win.

Coming up – Hammonton hosts Egg Harbor Township on Jan. 21.
