HAMMONTON - Toy Market, South Jersey’s largest independent toy store, will sponsor an outdoor Touch A Truck on Aug. 28. This free event will take place in Downtown Hammonton from noon to 4 p.m. and is hosted by MainStreet Hammonton.

Touch A Truck will feature up close encounters with big trucks, construction equipment, tractors and more. There will be interactive games, music and giveaways for children and their families.

The event will take place behind Toy Market at 200 Bellevue Avenue, in the Vine Street Parking and on 2nd Street in Hammonton. 2nd Street will be closed and lined with several large trucks and machines as well. Kitchen 19 will feature a Hot Dog Bar at its “Truck Stop.” Other Downtown Hammonton shops and restaurants also will participate.

“Children of all ages love trucks,” said Kelly Donio, owner of Toy Market. “So many kids have toy trucks and we’re thrilled to give them a chance to explore and touch the real thing. We really hope the event is a great day to spend time with family, too.”

Last year’s Touch A Truck was the first event of its kind in Hammonton and attracted families from all over the region.

“It was so good to see so many children interacting with each other, playing with all of the creative toys and just having fun playing outside.” said Cassie Iacovelli, executive director of MainStreet Hammonton.

Companies and individuals who would like to bring their vehicles for display should email to coordinate the details.
