Recycling Central to benefit Hammonton Education
HAMMONTON – The Hammonton Education Foundation will hold its annual Recycling Central event from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society grounds on the corner of Third and French streets.
Susquehanna Bank, a division of BB&T Bank, is the major sponsor of Recycling Central.
DocuVault Delaware Valley will have a mobile paper shredding unit onsite to provide safe, secure shredding of documents.
Residents may shred up to three 33-gallon bags of paper for $20. Businesses will be charged on a sliding scale, ranging from $50 for up to 150 pounds to $250 for up to 1,000 pounds.
Receipts for tax purposes will be provided. Proceeds will benefit the Hammonton Education Foundation, which raises money to fund innovative projects in the Hammonton School District.
Several other community organizations will participate.
The Hammonton Lions Club will collect eyeglasses and hearing aids. The Hammonton branch of the Atlantic County Library System will collect books. The Hammonton High School Green Earth Club will collect old cell phones. Computers and related equipment also will be collected and recycled.
The event is part of the town’s Green Weekend, which also includes the town-wide yard sale on Sept. 19 and the Green Day Festival on Sept. 20.
