Police: Franklinville woman stabbed man in head 4 times
MAYS LANDING – A Gloucester County woman was arrested on charges that she used a knife to repeatedly stab her boyfriend in the back of his head while she pinned him to the ground.
The victim, a 39-year-old man, was treated at a hospital and released, Hamilton Township police said.
Police said he and Jillian Bellone-McMaster of Franklinville were arguing early Friday morning when the dispute escalated inside a Mays Landing home.
The 31-year-old woman grabbed a weapon, which court records described as a “large knife” or “small sword,” and pushed her boyfriend to the ground, according to police.
As he was lying facedown, Bellone-McMaster “jumped on top” and stabbed him four times in the back of the head and right cheek area, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by police.
She then left the seriously injured victim in the Sorrentino Way home and drove away, police said.
While driving, Bellone-McMaster called 911 to report the crime and also phoned her ex-husband to confess, the affidavit said.
Hamilton police officers responding to the scene around 5:30 a.m. stopped her vehicle near the home and arrested her. Bellone-McMaster admitted to police that she stabbed the victim, according to the affidavit.
Police charged her with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. She was held in Atlantic County Jail.
