ATLANTIC CITY – A woman died in the lobby of the Atlantic City Police Department after fleeing an attacker in her nearby home, authorities said Wednesday.

Jennifer Rodriguez and her husband Ralphy, both 34, were stabbed repeatedly in their apartment on the first block of South Iowa Avenue around 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

A 28-year-old Pleasantville woman, Rollie Ellis, is accused of attacking the couple during an altercation, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

Jennifer Rodriguez fled across the street to Atlantic City’s Public Safety Building at Iowa and Atlantic avenues, where she was found unresponsive and bleeding from a stab wound to the back of her head and neck.

She was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
