MAYS LANDING – Police have filed child-endangerment charges against an Atlantic City woman whose infant overdosed on drugs.

The child “fully recovered” and no longer lives with the mother, 37-year-old Shannon Devine, according to the Hamilton Township Police Department.

Police responded July 8 to an Oakmont Drive home where the 7-month-old child was unresponsive.

The child was treated by paramedics and hospitalized.

The police department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office determined the infant suffered from an overdose of narcotics. Police did not say how the child got access to the drugs.

On Dec. 21, police arrested Devine on charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child. She was held in Atlantic County Jail.
